The heavily cast censer is of squat bulbous shape with a long flared neck, decorated along the mouth with two rounded handles, all resting on three short tapered feet. The base is marked in relief with the four characters Yingwei zhai zhi 映帷齋製‘Made in the Shining Bedcurtains Studio’ within a square cartouche. The surface is well patinated and with traces of splashed gilt decoration.
